Frequently Asked Questions

What are anti-slip floor treatments?

Anti-slip floor treatments are chemical treatments, epoxies, tapes and sprays that are applied to a floor or surface that increase the coefficient of friction. This aids in the prevention of slips and falls when these surfaces become wet. The higher the coefficient of friction, the safer it is.

Does it really work?

Yes!  Slip meter readings are done before and after treatment and provides the data which reflects the increase of coefficient of friction level of your floor or surface.

Is it safe?

Yes. Our products are safe to humans and animals. They are low in odor and contain no harmful vapors. They are safe to be used in residential and commercial settings.

How are the treatments applied?

Depending on the floor's condition, it will be cleaned and degreased before treatment. Most of our treatments are applied as a liquid solution, similar to mopping a floor. Your floors are then put back into immediate use. For other surfaces, anti-slip spray or tape adhesives may be required.

How long does it take to apply?

Application depends on various factors such as treatment type, the cleanliness of the floor before treatment, the amount of square footage, and any items that may need to be removed prior to treatment. In a typical situation, it takes about 4 hours to complete 1,000 square feet for a chemical application.

How long is the down time?

Down time includes the time needed to prepare the floor for treatment, treatment type and the treatment process itself. Prep time includes time spent cleaning the floor prior to application. Prep time can be reduced if the floor or surface is properly cleaned prior to our arrival. The treatment process moves quickly and the time spent applying the treatment will depend on the amount of square footage.

Will it change the appearance of my floor?

In most cases, our chemical treatments will not noticeably alter the appearance of your floor. You may experience a very minimal chance of variation in appearance due to treatment and surface type.

How long does a treatment last?

Treatments will last for a minimum of two years, given that the treated area is properly cleaned and maintained using our cleaning products. This may even extend the life of the treatment, giving you more time in-between treatments.

Who uses floor safety treatments & what can you treat?

Are there any warranties or guarantees?

We guarantee our treatments for two years, given that the treated area is properly cleaned and maintained using our products, and if it will continue to be used in the same manner and for the same purpose as the date of application. Warranty does not apply to self-applications.

Are there any tax credits or insurance deductions?

According to the IRS, small businesses can deduct up to $10,000 for certain modifications made in accord with A.D.A. (American Disabilities Act) guidelines, including floor surfaces. You may be eligible for a reduction in your business or homeowners insurance insurance policy.
